ICE deployed to airports (during DHS shutdown)
What’s happening: ICE agents have been deployed to at least 14 airports to help with crowd control and support TSA operations as TSA staffing drops during the DHS funding lapse.
Important details:
Why this is happening: TSA officers have gone without pay since DHS funding lapsed in February, leading to increased callouts and quits, which is slowing security lines.

What’s happening: The Supreme Court temporarily blocked the Trump administration from deporting people covered by TPS for Syria and Haiti while the legal fight continues, and set expedited arguments for April (with a decision likely by late June).

What’s happening: The U.S. Senate confirmed Markwayne Mullin as the 9th Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security in a 54–45 vote, and DHS says he was sworn in the next day by President Trump.
