PROMOTORES

DE JUSTICIA

Promotores de Justicia is IAJE’s educational arm, led by everyday heroes who are deeply embedded in their communities—the aunties, neighbors, parents, and community members who know their communities best. Through different pathways with IAJE, everyday heroes can develop organizing, advocacy, and leadership skills while building the tools and confidence to create meaningful change.

Through these pathways, participants become part of a statewide network of immigrants, children of immigrants, and impacted community members working together to build a new future for our communities.

Our Mission

Each program focuses on a different area of community well-being and leadership: Promotoras de Salud, which focuses on health education and community health access; Promotores de la Voz, which develops language justice and interpretation skills; and Promotores de Poder, which focuses on workplace safety, organizing, advocacy, and community leadership. While each program has a distinct focus, they share the same goal: equipping everyday community members with the skills and resources they need to support one another, advocate for their communities, and create lasting change.

Across all of these programs, we believe everyone’s labor is valuable. These programs are designed around long-term relationships and commitments, often lasting one to two years or longer. Participants are investing their time, knowledge, and energy into building stronger communities, so every cohort includes a stipend and graduation to recognize their efforts and dedication.
