Our Mission
Our Nuestro Mississippi coalition unites local and statewide organizations to strategize and implement support for immigrants and their families across the state. Through this powerful alliance, we address the unique challenges facing immigrant communities who are increasingly targeted in the current political climate.

Nuestro serves as a central hub connecting immigrants with essential resources and services while building a culture of resistance to anti-immigrant rhetoric.

We provide resources in multiple languages including Spanish, Mam, French, Vietnamese, Arabic, and Tagalog to ensure information reaches all communities.

Our work is organized through specialized committees including Education, Faith, Volunteer, and Legal Hubs that coordinate targeted support for immigrant families.

Nuestro operates as a coalition, not a legal entity, connecting community members with trusted partners who provide legal services and other critical resources. Our weekly meetings bring together committee representatives who share updates, coordinate responses, and strengthen our collective impact.
The idea of mutual aid vs. charity work is a means of uplifting the work that community members and leaders do to provide support in the form of food, clothing, clean water to Mississippi communities that have been historically under-resourced. We work together with community members, leaders and their families to raise money and support for community members facing individual crises in their lives. We do this through soccer games, raffles, sale of food items, and art created by community. This includes paying for funerals and hospital bills, providing supplemental formula for new families, and more. We seek to be prepared for rapid response to any emergency faced by our communities, and work with the base, to ensure the well-being of those impacted.
